Weslo Cadence G 5.9 with Manual Incline

Battle the Bulge with Gym-Quality Equipment

I’ve never been shy about admitting my shortfalls when it comes to sticking with a workout program, but I’m convinced that having a treadmill in my basement would be a big motivator. My wife’s not necessarily sold, due to the expense associated with a quality treadmill, so I guess I’ll just have to do a good job of convincing her. What I’ve found is that there’s a great deal of variety when it comes to treadmills, which makes it even more difficult to make the right decision.

When I came across the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill I was pretty sure that it could potentially be a great compromise. It has most of the features that I’m looking for in a piece of home workout equipment, and at a price that also addresses my wife’s concerns. This unit retails for about $300 – pretty reasonable.

Foldable Convenience

While there’s a lot to consider when choosing home workout equipment, convenience has to be somewhere near the top of the list. Let’s face it, nobody wants a big bulky piece of equipment stuck in the middle of their living room. You don’t have to worry about that with the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill – this unit is a nice compromise between features and convenience. If you want to use it in the bedroom that’s not a problem because you can simply fold it up and slide it into the closet when you’re done. I’m fairly sure that this could be a great argument in my favor in attempting to get my wife on board with a treadmill!

Safety First

One of the biggest concerns in our household is the safety of the children – with a four-year-old and a six-year-old running around, you don’t want to have to worry about them hurting themselves while playing on your exercise equipment. This treadmill has some safety features built into it that you’d expect to find exclusively on much more expensive models. While you’re working out there’s a safety key that you can clip to your clothing that will automatically shut down the machine if you fall and pull it out – that’s definitely comforting. This feature is more about protecting the person using the machine than it is about protecting curious little people, but it’s important nonetheless.

So what have they included to put your mind at ease with the little ones running around? Well, there’s actually a safety switch located on the bottom of the front of the machine; this cuts off power to the machine until you’re ready to use it, although I still recommend storing it in the closet out of the way of those curious little hands.

Weight-Busting or Intense Cardio

When you go to a gym there are some standard features that all of the cardio machines have; I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. They all come with different settings for weight loss and cardio workouts, they allow you to track the distance you’ve traveled, they tell you what speed you’re traveling at, and they let you know how many calories you’ve burned along the way. You know what? This machine does all of those things, and for a lot less money than your local gym paid for that top-of-the-line machine you’ve been using for your workouts.
